May 2025

Pony Club - Witham Villa has been a Pony Club Centre for over 25 years, but recently the decision has been taken to come away from this national organisation whilst we continue to run our own Pony Club. This will mean there is no longer the requirement for our clients to pay an additional annual fee directly to the National Pony Club and there will be no joining fee for our own Pony Club. We will continue to run the Monday evening unridden sessions after school as before all bookable via ECPro. The children will now work to achieve the Witham Villa Rainbow Awards in Stable Management. These awards cover the syllabus for Pony Club, BHS and ABRS assessments.

Unaffiliated Dressage - we held the penultimate show of the Spring Championship Series and look forward to making presentations across all levels once any final points have been gained in the final show on June 2nd. We love welcoming horses and riders to our friendly and supportive competitions and seeing the partnerships progress.

Kate Cowell Dressage Clinic - we were pleased to welcome Kate back again and are delighted that she will be here again on Monday June 9th. This clinic is bookable via My Riding Life

BD Youth - Verity is a BD Youth Coach and Assessor and welcomed two riders during May for a lesson followed by an assessed Rider Skills test

British Dressage - FEI Judge Training Day - This ran at Newbold Verdon and we were honoured that India and Eddie (Escade) were invited to ride through the Inter 1 test. The day was run by Becky Moody and Isobel Wessels and it was good to receive their positive feedback after the test.

British Dressage - During May India took Nalla (Vanilla P) out at Elementary Gold level and qualified for the regionals in just two outings with scores up to 74%

India also took Ginty (Integra) out to compete in her first novices, making a good start with scores of up to 70% and qualifying for the Gold Regionals

International Dressage and Premier League - India and Eddie (Escade) competed at the Addington CDI (International show) coming 3rd in Young Rider Team Test on 70%, 2nd in Young Rider Individual on 70% and 2nd in Young Rider Freestyle on 72%.

In the Premier League they finished in 1st place in the Young Rider Team Test on 71%

They are announced as on the Short List for the 2025 Young Rider Europeans which are to be held in Germany this year in July.
